Performance
The EPA and American Lung Association recently recognized a published list of ratings (see www.cadr.org) for removing airborne particles. AV501 received the highest rating in its category.
How does it work?
The AV501 traps nearly 300% more dirt and allergens by using a combination of mechanical and electrostatic technology. Other air purifiers use either one or the other, but Blueair uses both.
Mechanical & Electrostatic Filtration
Blueair filters contain millions of ultra-thin fibers that mechanically trap even the smallest particles and then goes a step further by giving a negative charge to particles which magnetically attracts them to the filters.
Noise Level... HEPASilent™ Technology
According to the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (January 2000) no other product cleans as much air as quietly as the Blueair. The AV501 traps more particles using filters that are less dense than other cleaners. Since air flows more easily through the AV501 it cleans larger volumes of air with considerably less noise. The AV501 has four speeds. On level 1, it is nearly impossible to hear, this is call HEPASilent™ Technology.
Energy
Because of the patented HEPASilent™ Technology, it's easier for air to flow through the filters, but difficult for particles. This means the AV501 saves significantly on your energy bills. On its lowest speed, the AV501 uses the energy of a 15 watt bulb. On it's highest speed, a 70 watt bulb.
Design
Blueair cleans twice the amount of air per minute than other air cleaners, while complementing your home or office decor. It's sleek Swedish shape has earned it several European product design awards. The Blueair is even featured in a permanent exhibit at The National Museum in Stockholm.
